730:362 Philosophy of Literature (Summer 2010)
In this course we are going to examine the nature of fiction, truth in
fiction, and fictional characters. Readings will include selections of
the following books:
- Gregory Currie, The Nature of Fiction.
- R. M. Sainsbury, Fiction and Fictionalism.
- Kendall Walton, Mimesis as Make-Believe.
These selections will be supplemented by a few
articles by David Lewis, Graham Priest, Peter van
Inwagen, and Brian Weatherson, and other philosophers.

730:215 Introduction to Metaphysics (Fall 2010)
A survery course of general issues in contemporary analytical
metaphysics. Topics include identity, modality, universals, abstract
objects, time, and causation. Readings include selections from
- E. J. Lowe, A Survey of Metaphysics.
as well as several articles from Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
